Farmers Market

My best friend and I took a trip downtown to the local farmers market that takes place every thursday during the summer. The town itself is so cute and high class that it is enjoyable to walk around even without the added interest of stalls filled with locally grown food and baked goods.

DSC_0122The market offered a range of organic and non organic fruit and vegetables as well as fresh baked pastries and breads, even with gluten free or other dietary constricted options.

It can be a wonderful place to just walk around and enjoy being outside. At the Downtown Los Altos one, in addition to fresh produce, there was also an array of food trucks and stalls with everything from whole roasting chickens to fresh, vegan indian cuisine. It was the perfect place to grab some healthy (not so healthy for my friend who has a crazy metabolism) dinner.

Fully loaded baked potato with bacon. Enough said, I have never hated my friend so much for being able to eat sour cream, butter and bacon.

My dinner; sautéed fresh zucchini, squash, onions, peppers, garlic, tomatoes, peas and basil topped with salt and pepper. 🙂

Waiting in line.
