Persimmon Tart

It’s that time of year again when my families four persimmon trees start growing thousands of fruits and I have to come up with creative things to do with them. Today I made a very basic persimmon tart which was surprisingly sweet and flavorful. When it comes to fruit I try to keep it as basic as possible so the real flavor of the fruit stands out.

DSC_0006Pie Crust

You can use any single layer pie crust you wish, I used a vegan one of course but any basic recipe works!

Chop the persimmons in half then into slices and layer on the uncooked pie crust.

DSC_0008Sprinkle a tiny bit of brown sugar over all and cover with tinfoil, baking at 350 degrees until the crust is golden brown and the persimmons are slightly shriveled.

DSC_0010Recommended to be served with banana ice cream for a healthy dessert!
